The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Tamaqua Blue Raiders (Tamaqua, PA) and the visiting Panther Valley Panthers (Lansford, PA), observed Tamaqua's basketball team edge Panther Valley by a score of 49-43.

The Blue Raiders (12-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Minersville (Minersville, PA). The Battlin' Miners come into the Schuylkill County 1 challenge with a 0-7 record. In their last challenge, Minersville was tipped by Mahanoy Area (Mahanoy City, PA), 55-38, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers encounter the Louis E. Dieruff Huskies (Allentown, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 8. Panther Valley will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record.
