The Smyer Bobcats nipped the host Ropes Eagles basketball squad by a final score of 64-59 in Friday's league outing.

Next, the Bobcats face the New Deal Lions (New Deal, TX) in a non-league outing, on Tuesday, January 14. Smyer will attempt to upgrade on its 19-6 season record. The Lions enter the outing with a 16-10 record after their 78-32 league loss to New Home (New Home, TX).

The Eagles (18-9) will now prepare for their outing against Plains (Plains, TX). The Cowboys enter the 2A Region I District 5 outing with a 7-3 record.
