The Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC), 67-50 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Golden Lions (7-5) will now prepare for their test against Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC). The Gryphons go into the 1A/2A Conference 40 test with a 3-10 record. In their last test, Thomas Jefferson went down by East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC), 79-35, in a league test.

The Greenwave now own a 1-13 record. They play next when they host South Point for a 3A Conference 50 test on Friday, January 13. Ashbrook will encounter a Red Raiders squad coming off a 66-62 league loss to Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC). The Red Raiders record now stands at 12-3.
