The Mica Mountain Thunderbolts topped the visiting Walden Grove Red Wolves basketball team by a final score of 79-70 in Thursday's league game.

In their next game, the Thunderbolts face the Douglas Bulldogs (Douglas, AZ) in a 4A Gila game, on Tuesday, January 16. Mica Mountain will attempt to advance on its 15-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the test with a 7-10 record after their 65-59 league loss to Rio Rico (Rio Rico, AZ).

The Red Wolves now own a 8-10 record. They play next when they host Amphitheater for a 4A Gila test on Tuesday, January 16. Walden Grove will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 51-40 league win over Sahuarita (Sahuarita, AZ). The Panthers record now stands at 10-6.
