North Carolina High School Basketball - Washington County crushes Perquimans

January 11, 2024: Hertford, NC 27944

Washington County Panthers (Plymouth, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC), 87-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Washington County upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Panthers travel to Gates County (Gatesville, NC) to clash with the Red Barons in a 1A Four Rivers bout on Friday, January 12. The Red Barons go into the bout with a record of 2-8. Gates County lost 85-40 in their recent league bout against Bertie (Windsor, NC)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Tarboro Vikings (Tarboro, NC) in a 1A Four Rivers bout, on Friday, January 12. Perquimans will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 75-71 non-league win over Rocky Mount Prep (Rocky Mount, NC).
