The Cape Hatteras Hurricanes basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech Griffins to 9 in the Hurricanes non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Hurricanes now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bear Grass Charter for a 1A Atlantic 5 contest on Tuesday, January 16. Cape Hatteras will meet a Bears team coming off a 55-29 league win over Columbia (Columbia, NC). The Bears record now stands at 7-5.

The Griffins (2-10) will now prepare for their contest against Currituck County (Barco, NC). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 8-3 record. In their last contest, Currituck County was routed by Holmes (Edenton, NC), 42-39, in a league contest.
