St. Martin de Porres Lions (Cleveland, OH) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Our Lady of the Elms Panthers (Akron, OH), 55-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Martin de Porres upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Lions host Cleveland Central Catholic (Cleveland, OH) to play the Ironmen in a non-league bout on Sunday, January 14. The Ironmen come into the bout with a record of 1-7. Cleveland Central Catholic lost 63-17 in their recent non-league bout against Lutheran East (Cleveland Heights, OH)

The Panthers (4-6) will now prepare for their battle against Buchtel (Akron, OH). The Griffins come into the non-league battle with a 7-7 record. In their last battle, Buchtel beat North (Akron, OH), 69-24, in a league battle.
