Gretna Dragons (Gretna, NE) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Omaha Westside Warriors (Omaha, NE), 39-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Gretna upgrades its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Dragons travel to Bellevue West (Bellevue, NE) to play the Thunderbirds in a A District TBD bout on Thursday, January 19. The Thunderbirds come into the bout with a record of 13-2. Bellevue West won 59-58 in their recent league bout against Kearney (Kearney, NE)

Next up, the Warriors play the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs (Papillion, NE) in a A District TBD bout, on Friday, January 20. Omaha Westside will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Monarchs come into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 76-65 league win over Norfolk (Norfolk, NE).
