Virginia High School Basketball - Western Albemarle nips Charlottesville
January 12, 2024: Charlottesville, VA 22901 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Western Albemarle Warriors (Crozet, VA) and the host Charlottesville Black Knights (Charlottesville, VA), saw Western Albemarle's basketball squad hold off Charlottesville by a tally of 44-41.
With the victory, Western Albemarle improves its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Warriors host Goochland (Goochland, VA) to play the Bulldogs in a Jefferson challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 4-8. Goochland lost 68-30 in their recent league challenge against Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA)
Next up, the Black Knights play the Louisa County Lions (Mineral, VA) in a Jefferson challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Charlottesville will attempt to improve on its 12-1 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 4-8 record after their 75-57 league loss to Orange County (Orange, VA).
