Kennedy Cougars (Sacramento, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA), 57-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Kennedy upgrades its record to 13-7 on the season. The Cougars host Grant (Sacramento, CA) to play the Pacers in a Metropolitan Conference bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Pacers go into the bout with a record of 11-8. Grant won 86-78 in their recent non-league bout against Antelope (Antelope, CA)

Next up, the Lions play the Laguna Creek Cardinals (Elk Grove, CA) in a Metropolitan Conference bout, on Wednesday, January 17. McClatchy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-14 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 11-9 record after their 61-60 non-league win over Rio Americano (Sacramento, CA).
