The McClatchy Lions basketball team (Sacramento, CA), was overwhelmed 73-37 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA)

The Mustangs now possess a 13-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mojave for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 6. Monterey Trail will battle a Rattlers team coming off a 72-65 league loss to Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, NV). The Rattlers record now stands at 10-5.

The Lions (6-11) will now prepare for their battle against Grant (Sacramento, CA). The Pacers come into the Metropolitan Conference battle with a 8-6 record. In their last battle, Grant trounced River City (West Sacramento, CA), 77-31, in a league battle.
