Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Cypress Centurions (Cypress, CA) and the host Kennedy Fighting Irish (La Palma, CA), saw Cypress's basketball squad hold off Kennedy by a tally of 49-46.

With the victory, Cypress improves its record to 10-10 on the campaign. The Centurions host Crean Lutheran (Irvine, CA) to confront the Saints in a Empire challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Saints come into the challenge with a record of 11-6. Crean Lutheran won 74-32 in their recent league challenge against Valencia (Placentia, CA)

Next up, the Fighting Irish confront the Palos Verdes Sea Kings (Palos Verdes Estates, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 13. Kennedy will attempt to improve on its 8-11 season record. The Sea Kings come into the challenge with a 15-3 record after their 54-49 league loss to Culver City (Culver City, CA).
