Springfield Tigers (New Middletown, OH) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting McDonald Blue Devils (McDonald, OH), 70-58 in a league bout.

With the victory, Springfield upgrades its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to McKinley (Sebring, OH) to play the Trojans in a Mahoning Valley - Scarlet bout on Thursday, January 20. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 2-8. McKinley lost 54-35 in their recent league bout against Mineral Ridge (Mineral Ridge, OH)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Lowellville Rockets (Lowellville, OH) in a Mahoning Valley - Scarlet bout, on Saturday, January 15. McDonald will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Rockets come into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 45-29 league loss to Waterloo (Atwater, OH).
