Shaler Area Titans (Pittsburgh, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Armstrong River Hawks (Kittanning, PA), 62-55 in a league bout.

With the victory, Shaler Area upgrades its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Titans travel to Fox Chapel (Pittsburgh, PA) to play the Foxes in a WPIAL 5A 2 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Foxes come into the bout with a record of 9-5. Fox Chapel won 55-45 in their recent league bout against Woodland Hills (Pittsburgh, PA)

Next up, the River Hawks play the Neshannock Lancers (New Castle, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Armstrong will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Lancers come into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 79-34 league win over New Brighton (New Brighton, PA).
