Monroe Hornets (Monroe, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Franklin Wildcats (Franklin, OH), 59-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Monroe upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Hornets host Wyoming (Cincinnati, OH) to clash with the Cowboys in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Cowboys go into the bout with a record of 10-1. Wyoming won 56-45 in their recent league bout against Indian Hill (Cincinnati, OH)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Bishop Fenwick Falcons (Franklin, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Franklin will attempt to improve on its 0-11 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 9-4 record after their 66-59 non-league win over Kings (Kings Mill, OH).
