Maryland High School Basketball - McDonogh nips Loyola Blakefield
January 13, 2023: Owings Mills, MD 21117 McDonogh Eagles (Owings Mills, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Loyola Blakefield Dons (Towson, MD), 67-65 in a league bout.
With the win, McDonogh upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Eagles host Fairfax Christian (Dulles, VA) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Sunday, January 15. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 9-9. Fairfax Christian lost 78-59 in their recent non-league bout against Peninsula Catholic (Newport News, VA)
Next up, the Dons play the Goretti Gael (Hagerstown, MD) in a Baltimore Catholic bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Loyola Blakefield will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Gael go into the bout with a 16-2 record after their 51-47 non-league win over Iona Prep (New Rochelle, NY).
