In Friday's league outing, the Morton Panthers (Morton, MS) basketball squad nipped the host Union Yellowjackets (Union, MS), by a margin of 45-41.

The Panthers (11-3) will now prepare for their outing against Forest (Forest, MS). The Bearcats go into the 3A Region 5 outing with a 3-2 record. In their last outing, Forest got by Clarkdale (Meridian, MS), 58-40, in a league outing.

The Yellowjackets now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Clarkdale for a 3A Region 5 outing on Tuesday, January 17. Union will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 58-40 league loss to Forest (Forest, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-12.
