Iowa High School Basketball - Winfield-Mt. Union holds off Pekin
January 13, 2023: Packwood, IA 52580 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves (Winfield, IA) and the host Pekin Panthers (Packwood, IA), saw Winfield-Mt. Union's basketball squad hold off Pekin by a tally of 58-51.
With the victory, Winfield-Mt. Union improves its record to 12-2 on the campaign. The Wolves travel to WACO (Wayland, IA) to confront the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 13-0. WACO won 54-30 in their recent non-league challenge against Wapello (Wapello, IA)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA) in a SEI - North challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Pekin will attempt to improve on its 6-9 season record.
