In Friday's league match, the visiting Gig Harbor Tides basketball team scored a decisive 81-32 triumph over the Yelm Tornados.

In their next game, the Tides meet the River Ridge Hawks (Lacey, WA) in a 3A South Sound match, on Wednesday, January 18. Gig Harbor will attempt to better on its 8-5 season record. The Hawks enter the match with a 0-11 record after their 70-44 league loss to Timberline (Lacey, WA).
