Newark Wildcats (Newark, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lancaster Golden Gales (Lancaster, OH), 51-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Newark upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Wildcats travel to West Clermont (Cincinnati, OH) to clash with the Wolves in a non-league bout on Monday, January 16. The Wolves go into the bout with a record of 16-0. West Clermont won 39-28 in their recent non-league bout against Magnificat (Rocky River, OH)

Next up, the Golden Gales clash with the Central Crossing Comets (Grove City, OH) in a Ohio Capital - Buckeye bout, on Friday, January 20. Lancaster will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record.
