Virginia High School Basketball - Broadway can't hold off Staunton
January 13, 2025: Staunton, VA 24401 Staunton Storm (Staunton, VA) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Broadway Gobblers (Broadway, VA), 49-43 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Staunton advances its record to 3-2 on the year. The Storm host Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA) to face the Green Hornets in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 14. The Green Hornets enter the match with a record of 4-4. Wilson Memorial won 50-31 in their recent non-league match against Westmoreland (Montross, VA)
The Gobblers now own a 2-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Rockingham for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 14. Broadway will face a Eagles squad coming off a 47-44 non-league loss to Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 7-1.
