The Dobson Mustangs basketball team (Mesa, AZ), was knocked off 44-34 in Tuesday's non-league challenge with the visiting Cesar Chavez Champions (Laveen, AZ)

The Champions (7-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Browne (Phoenix, AZ). The Bruins come into the 6A Metro challenge with a 1-12 record.

The Mustangs now own a 5-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mesa for a 6A East Valley battle on Friday, January 16. Dobson will meet a Jackrabbits squad coming off a 47-45 non-league win over Desert Vista (Phoenix, AZ). The Jackrabbits record now stands at 7-10.
