In Saturday's league outing, the Meridian Mustangs (Daykin, NE) basketball squad edged the visiting Sterling Jets (Sterling, NE), by a final score of 38-35.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves (Exeter, NE) in a D2 District 2 game, on Tuesday, January 17. Meridian will attempt to move on its 3-10 season record. The Timberwolves enter the game with a 6-8 record after their 41-34 non-league loss to Diller-Odell (Odell, NE).
