Pecos Panthers (Pecos, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM), 84-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pecos upgrades its record to 14-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Del Norte (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 10-6. Del Norte won 73-55 in their recent non-league bout against Socorro (Socorro, NM)

Next up, the Panthers play the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes (Mora, NM) in a 2A District 5 bout, on Thursday, January 19. Penasco will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Rangers/Rangerettes come into the bout with a 8-7 record after their 34-31 non-league win over Tularosa (Tularosa, NM).
