New Mexico High School Basketball - McCurdy overwhelms Penasco
February 9, 2023: Espanola, NM 87532 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the McCurdy Bobcats (Espanola, NM) and the visiting Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM), saw McCurdy's basketball squad wallop Penasco by a tally of 69-47.
With the victory, McCurdy improves its record to 11-12 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Mora (Mora, NM) to play the Rangers/Rangerettes in a 2A District 5 challenge on Saturday, February 11. The Rangers/Rangerettes come into the challenge with a record of 11-11. Mora won 52-50 in their recent league challenge against Penasco (Penasco, NM)
Next up, the Panthers play the Escalante Lobos (Tierra Amarilla, NM) in a 2A District 5 challenge, on Saturday, February 11. Penasco will attempt to improve on its 5-15 season record. The Lobos come into the challenge with a 15-7 record after their 54-52 league win over Mesa Vista (Ojo Caliente, NM).
