In Tuesday's league contest, the host Pewitt Brahmas basketball team scored a close 31-28 triumph over the Bowie Pirates.

The Brahmas (12-13) will now prepare for their contest against Rivercrest (Bogata, TX). The Rebels go into the 2A Region II District 16 contest with a 7-18 record. In their last contest, Rivercrest nipped Detroit (Detroit, TX), 69-21, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Pirates confront the Harts Bluff Bulldogs (Mt. Pleasant, TX) in a 2A Region II District 16 contest, on Friday, January 17. Bowie will attempt to better on its 16-9 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 19-10 record after their 51-46 league win over Pewitt (Omaha, TX).
