The Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) basketball edged the visiting Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA), 63-59 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Governors now possess a 8-3 record. They play next when they travel to Gretna for a Dogwood bout on Friday, January 17. Nelson County will play a Hawks team coming off a 65-58 league win over Altavista (Altavista, VA). The Hawks record now stands at 9-1.

With the loss, Dan River falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Chatham (Chatham, VA) to play the Cavaliers in a Dogwood bout on Friday, January 17.
