In Tuesday's non-league contest, the host Lowell Red Devils basketball team scored a good 65-53 win over the Merrillville Pirates.

The Red Devils (8-5) will now prepare for their contest against Illiana Christian (Dyer, IN). The Vikings come into the non-league contest with a 4-8 record.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Crown Point Bulldogs (Crown Point, IN) in a Duneland contest, on Friday, January 17. Merrillville will attempt to better on its 3-9 season record.
