January 14, 2025: Velma, OK 73491 The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Empire Bulldogs (Duncan, OK) and the host Velma-Alma Comets (Velma, OK), observed Empire's basketball team knock off Velma-Alma by a score of 33-25.
The Bulldogs (10-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Waurika (Waurika, OK). The Eagles come into the Southern Eight challenge with a 6-4 record. In their last challenge, Waurika prevailed over Ringling (Ringling, OK), 32-30, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Comets encounter the Dibble Demons (Dibble, OK) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 17. Velma-Alma will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Demons come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 63-52 league loss to Stratford (Stratford, OK).
