Virginia High School Basketball - Amherst County overwhelms Rustburg
January 14, 2025: Rustburg, VA 24588 The Amherst County Lancers basketball team scored 42 points and limited the host Rustburg Red Devils to 10 in the Lancers non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Lancers now have a 6-4 record. They play next when they host Jefferson Forest for a non-league game on Friday, January 17. Amherst County will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 43-31 non-league win over Brookville (Lynchburg, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 7-3.
With the loss, Rustburg falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Red devils travel to Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA) to confront the Trojans in a non-league game on Thursday, January 16. The Trojans go into the game with a record of 1-7. Tunstall lost 51-7 in their recent non-league game against Bassett (Bassett, VA)
