The Rams now sport a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Edward's for a non-league match on Friday, January 17. John Carroll Catholic will meet a Pirates team coming off a 5-1 non-league win over Somerset College Prep Academy (Port St. Lucie, FL). The Pirates record now stands at 7-6.
Match Summary
In perhaps the most exciting match of the year, the Lady Patriots put on an offensive show in their dominating Senior Night win over the John Carroll Lady Rams. Starting 8 seniors, the Patriots took control of the game and never looked back. Keira Smylie scored the first goal of the game in the 5th minute. Senior Ada Boesch scored again in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Senior Scarlett Kelly scored her first career goal (assist by Keira Smylie) to bring the crowd and the Patriots bench to their feet. Keira Smylie scored another goal in the 26th minute with an assist by EllaMae Crooks. ElleMae Crooks scored another goal in the 31st minute. Finally, in the 72nd minute, Senior Lilly Baum scored to put the finishing touch on a dominant 6-0 victory. The dominant Patriots defense once again held the opposing team scoreless for their 12th shutout of the season. The Lady Patriots will attempt to ride this momentum into the District Playoffs.
