North Carolina High School Basketball - Shelby can't hold off Crest

January 15, 2025: Shelby, NC 28152

The Crest Chargers nipped the visiting Shelby Golden Lions basketball squad by a final score of 52-50 in Wednesday's non-league outing.

Next, the Chargers face the South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC) in a 3A Big South outing, on Friday, January 17. Crest will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Red Raiders enter the outing with a 10-4 record after their 58-55 league loss to Huss (Gastonia, NC).

The Golden Lions (10-5) will now prepare for their outing against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC). The Yellow Jackets enter the 1A/2A Southern Piedmont outing with a 9-8 record. In their last outing, Bessemer City got by Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC), 53-45, in a league outing.
