The Kings Mountain Mountaineers basketball squad (Kings Mountain, NC), was crushed 53-15 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC)

With the victory, Shelby advances its record to 7-3 on the year. The Golden Lions host Varsity Opponent (, ) to meet the in a non-league battle on Saturday, January 4. The enter the battle with a record of 113-291. Varsity Opponent lost 47-24 in their recent non-league battle against Claiborne Academy (Haynesville, LA)

The Mountaineers now own a 0-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ashbrook for a 3A Big South battle on Tuesday, January 7. Kings Mountain will meet a Greenwave squad coming off a 69-46 league loss to South Point (Belmont, NC). The Greenwave record now stands at 2-8.
