In Thursday's league contest, the host Fergus Golden Eagles basketball team scored a close 52-46 win over the Custer County Cowboys.

The Golden Eagles (7-5) will now prepare for their contest against Havre (Havre, MT). The Blue Ponies come into the A Northeast contest with a 3-8 record. In their last contest, Havre was tipped by Dawson County (Glendive, MT), 62-55, in a league match.

The Cowboys now own a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sidney for a A Northeast match on Tuesday, January 20.
