Tennessee High School Basketball - Christian Brothers nips Memphis East
January 16, 2023: Memphis, TN 38166 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Christian Brothers Purple Wave (Memphis, TN) and the visiting Memphis East Mustangs (Memphis, TN), saw Christian Brothers's basketball squad hold off Memphis East by a count of 62-57.
With the victory, Christian Brothers upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Purple Wave host St. Benedict at Auburndale (Cordova, TN) to play the Eagles in a Division II-AA West challenge on Friday, January 20. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 7-4.
Next up, the Mustangs play the Overton Wolverines (Memphis, TN) in a 4A District 16 challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Memphis East will attempt to upgrade on its 16-6 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 15-7 record after their 75-63 league win over Whitehaven (Memphis, TN).
