January 16, 2023: Westerly, RI 02891 St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals (East Providence, RI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Westerly Bulldogs (Westerly, RI), 53-27 in a league bout.
With the win, St. Mary Academy-Bay View upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Bengals travel to Juanita Sanchez Complex (Providence, RI) to play the Cavaliers in a State Championship bout on Wednesday, January 18. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 9-2. Juanita Sanchez Complex won 56-34 in their recent league bout against Cranston West (Cranston, RI)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI) in a State Championship bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Westerly will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 49-46 league win over Barrington (Barrington, RI).
