Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting North Gaston Wildcats (Dallas, NC), 46-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Ashbrook upgrades its record to 4-9 on the campaign. The Greenwave host Shelby (Shelby, NC) to play the Golden Lions in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Golden Lions come into the bout with a record of 4-9. Shelby won 59-30 in their recent league bout against East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Crest Chargers (Shelby, NC) in a 3A Big South bout, on Friday, January 19. North Gaston will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Chargers come into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 61-48 league loss to South Point (Belmont, NC).
