Louisiana High School Basketball - Westgate thwarts West St. Mary
January 16, 2024: New Iberia, LA 70560 The Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA) basketball knocked off the visiting West St. Mary Wolfpack (Baldwin, LA), 53-43 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Tigers (15-8) will now prepare for their test against Lafayette Christian Academy (Lafayette, LA). The Knights go into the 4A District 4 test with a 21-3 record. In their last test, Lafayette Christian Academy notched a victory over Oak Hill (Hineston, LA), 72-68, in a non-league test.
The Wolfpack now own a 11-5 record. They play next when they host Loreauville for a 2A District 8 test on Friday, January 19. West St. Mary will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 45-32 league win over Delcambre (Delcambre, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 4-13.
