Louisiana High School Basketball - Westgate holds off Teurlings Catholic
January 23, 2024: Lafayette, LA 70501 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA) and the host Teurlings Catholic Rebels (Lafayette, LA), saw Westgate's basketball squad hold off Teurlings Catholic by a tally of 61-59.
With the victory, Westgate improves its record to 16-9 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to David Thibodaux (Lafayette, LA) to confront the Bulldogs in a 4A District 4 challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 0-10.
Next up, the Rebels confront the St. Thomas More Cougars (Lafayette, LA) in a 4A District 4 challenge, on Friday, January 26. Teurlings Catholic will attempt to improve on its 17-10 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 11-12 record after their 37-21 league loss to Lafayette Christian Academy (Lafayette, LA).
