Louisiana High School Basketball - St. Thomas More overwhelms Westgate
February 2, 2024: New Iberia, LA 70560 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the St. Thomas More Cougars (Lafayette, LA) and the host Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA), saw St. Thomas More's basketball squad wallop Westgate by a tally of 51-23.
With the victory, St. Thomas More improves its record to 14-12 on the campaign. The Cougars host Iota (Iota, LA) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 15-10. Iota won 62-27 in their recent league challenge against Northwest (Opelousas, LA)
Next up, the Tigers confront the Northside Vikings (Lafayette, LA) in a 4A District 4 challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Westgate will attempt to improve on its 16-10 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 11-12 record after their 56-38 league win over Teurlings Catholic (Lafayette, LA).
