New Mexico High School Basketball - La Cueva nips Cleveland
January 16, 2024: Albuquerque, NM 87122 La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Cleveland Storm (Rio Rancho, NM), 60-59 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, La Cueva upgrades its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Bears host Cibola (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Friday, January 19. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 8-2. Cibola won 62-52 in their recent non-league bout against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM)
Next up, the Storm play the Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 18. Cleveland will attempt to upgrade on its 8-2 season record. The Matadors come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 66-58 non-league loss to Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM).
