The Blue Ridge Barons (St. George, VA) basketball were winner over the host New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), 59-45 in Thursday's league bout.

The Barons now possess a 19-0 record. They play next when they travel to Carlisle for a Virginia Independent bout on Tuesday, January 21.

With the loss, New Covenant falls to 11-3 on the campaign. The Gryphons travel to Miller School of Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA) to play the Mavericks in a Virginia Independent bout on Friday, January 17. The Mavericks go into the bout with a record of 7-9. Miller School of Albemarle won 79-54 in their recent league bout against Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA)
