The New Covenant Gryphons were victorious over the host Eastern Mennonite Flames basketball squad by a final score of 52-42 in Thursday's league outing.

Next, the Gryphons clash with the Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Ospreys (Moneta, VA) in a non-league outing, on Friday, January 31. New Covenant will attempt to upgrade on its 14-6 season record. The Ospreys enter the outing with a 12-2 record after their 47-29 non-league win over Timberlake Christian (Forest, VA).

The Flames (3-13) will now prepare for their outing against Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, VA). The Tigers enter the Virginia Independent outing with a 16-16 record. In their last outing, Hargrave Military Academy ran past Fishburne Military (Waynesboro, VA), 73-38, in a non-league outing.
