The Chase County Longhorns (Imperial, NE) basketball edged the visiting Perkins County Plainsmen (Grant, NE), 58-54 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Longhorns now possess a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Gothenburg for a C1 District 11 bout on Friday, January 17. Chase County will play a Swedes team coming off a 62-59 league loss to Cozad (Cozad, NE). The Swedes record now stands at 6-5.

With the loss, Perkins County falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Plainsmen host Wauneta-Palisade (Wauneta, NE) to play the Broncos in a non-league bout on Friday, January 17. The Broncos go into the bout with a record of 1-10. Wauneta-Palisade lost 69-42 in their recent non-league bout against Southwest (Bartley, NE)
