Maine High School Basketball - Mount Desert Island can't hold off Washington Academy
January 16, 2025: East Machias, ME 04630 Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME), 38-31 in a league match.
With the victory, Washington Academy upgrades its record to 7-7 on the year. The Raiders host Presque Isle (Presque Isle, ME) to face the Wildcats in a B North match on Monday, January 20. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 8-6. Presque Isle lost 45-34 in their recent league match against Old Town (Old Town, ME)
The Trojans now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host John Bapst Memorial for a B North match on Saturday, January 18. Mount Desert Island will face a Crusaders squad coming off a 57-47 league loss to Washington Academy (East Machias, ME). The Crusaders record now stands at 6-3.
