Tennessee High School Basketball - Austin-East thwarts South-Doyle
January 17, 2023: Knoxville, TN 37914 The Austin-East Roadrunners (Knoxville, TN) basketball knocked off the visiting South-Doyle Cherokees (Knoxville, TN), 62-51 in Tuesday's league test.
The Roadrunners (7-6) will now prepare for their test against Sequoyah (Madisonville, TN). The Chiefs go into the 3A District 5 test with a 5-13 record. In their last test, Sequoyah notched a victory over Polk County (Benton, TN), 70-58, in a non-league test.
The Cherokees now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they travel to Fulton for a 3A District 5 test on Thursday, January 19. South-Doyle will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 53-51 non-league win over Carter (Strawberry Plains, TN). The Falcons record now stands at 13-5.
