Georgia High School Basketball - Monroe Area holds off Hebron Christian Academy
January 17, 2023: Dacula, GA 30019 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) and the host Hebron Christian Academy Lions (Dacula, GA), saw Monroe Area's basketball squad hold off Hebron Christian Academy by a tally of 59-52.
With the victory, Monroe Area improves its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Purple Hurricanes host Stephens County (Toccoa, GA) to confront the Indians in a AAA Region 8 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 9-7. Stephens County lost 67-62 in their recent league challenge against Hart County (Hartwell, GA)
Next up, the Lions confront the Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA) in a AAA Region 8 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Hebron Christian Academy will attempt to improve on its 6-11 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 5-13 record after their 65-52 league loss to Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA).
