Norwin Knights (North Huntingdon, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA), 47-46 in a league challenge.

With the victory, Norwin improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Plum (Pittsburgh, PA) to confront the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 20. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 5-10. Plum lost 50-29 in their recent league challenge against Armstrong (Kittanning, PA)

Next up, the Spartans confront the Butler Golden Tornado (Butler, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 20. Hempfield Area will attempt to improve on its 7-8 season record. The Golden Tornado come into the challenge with a 12-3 record after their 86-73 league win over Pine-Richland (Gibsonia, PA).
