January 17, 2023: Shreveport, LA 71104 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Byrd Yellow Jackets (Shreveport, LA) and the visiting Captain Shreve Gators (Shreveport, LA), saw Byrd's basketball squad overcome Captain Shreve by a tally of 47-30.
With the victory, Byrd improves its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Yellow Jackets host Haughton (Haughton, LA) to confront the Buccaneers in a 5A District 1 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a record of 16-6. Haughton lost 57-29 in their recent league challenge against Parkway (Bossier City, LA)
Next up, the Gators confront the Southwood Cowboys (Shreveport, LA) in a 5A District 1 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Captain Shreve will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Cowboys come into the challenge with a 13-8 record after their 65-27 league loss to Airline (Bossier City, LA).
