January 17, 2024: Eureka, IL 61530 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Eureka Hornets (Eureka, IL) and the visiting LeRoy Panthers (LeRoy, IL), saw Eureka's basketball squad hold off LeRoy by a tally of 49-44.
With the victory, Eureka improves its record to 8-11 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Ridgeview (Colfax, IL) to play the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 20. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 7-11. Ridgeview won 51-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Deer Creek-Mackinaw (Mackinaw, IL)
Next up, the Panthers play the Tremont Turks (Tremont, IL) in a Heart of Illinois challenge, on Monday, January 22. LeRoy will attempt to improve on its 7-10 season record. The Turks come into the challenge with a 13-8 record after their 64-55 non-league loss to Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL).
